Saturday 02 June    10:15                    30th Anniversary Walk

To celebrate the formation of the Havering & East London Ramblers group in 1988 we are having a special walk. It will be led by Micky Doyle who was one of the first members of the group, leading many walks. Meet at the car park opposite the Two Brewers, Chipping Ongar pub for 5 mile walk through the local area revisiting some of the area frequently used in the early days of the group. Afterwards adjourn to the Two Brewers.

Meet at Navestock Side (Green Lane at the side of cricket pitch).   Most of this walk is in Weald Country Park with good footpaths through fields and woodland. Coffee break at Visitors’ Centre.

Meet Harold Wood Station car park for car share to French Street, Kent for walk via Chartwell (Churchills house). Lunch at Westerham. Plenty of pubs and cafes.

Meet Stratford station platform 11 to catch 10:00 service towards Bishops Stortford. Change Enfield Lock for service stopping Rye House. Note that Oyster 60+ and London freedom passes are not valid beyond Enfield Lock and you need a Pay as you go Oyster or contactless bank card or other ticket to travel to Rye House

Follow New River from Rye House to Broxbourne for lunch. The follow river Lea  towards Cheshunt fir train towards London
