Meet at King George’s Playing Field Car Park (near cafe), Ingrave Road, Brentwood (A128).  The walk is mainly in Thorndon Parks with a stop at the Visitors Centre.

Meet at Harold Wood Station car park for car share to Penshurst in Kent. Lovely walk with good views, passing through Hever, with lunch at Chiddingstone where there are pubs and a nice café. Return via the grounds of Penshurst place and maybe the chance of afternoon tea at the end.  Some small hills. Walk can be varied in length to take into account weather conditions/ability.

Meet on the concourse of Stratford International Station to catch the 10:44 train to Dover Priory.  Allow ample time beforehand to buy your return ticket to Dover Priory Station.  The leisurely (due to steep incline to cliff top) two mile walk from the station will be to the White Cliffs Visitor Centre. Options for further way-marked walks from the Visitor Centre.

N.B. At time of publication, a Super Off-Peak return ticket will be about £33.00.  This will be reduced by a third if using certain Railcards or the group travel option. See www.nationalrail.co.uk/groupsave.

Meet at Totteridge & Whetstone Station (High Barnet branch of Northern Line) for a linear walk along part of the Dollis Valley Greenwalk, finishing at East Finchley. An easy level walk with possible café stop en route, toilets at Totteridge Station and towards end of walk.

Meet outside Leigh-on-Sea Station for a circular walk (Leigh, Hadleigh and Benfleet) with good footpaths, fine views and food/refreshment stop. (Option to finish walk early at Benfleet).

Regular c2c trains are available from Upminster, Rainham or Barking,  OR park at the free Two Tree Island car park (Post Code: SS9 2GB) near the station.
